Some very rare On a Friday demo tracks have recently become available for download. If you don’t know, On a Friday is name Radiohead used before signing their record deal.

MPIE showings

There are a couple of showings of Radiohead’s Meeting People Is Easy coming up. One will be at the Walter Reade Theater on Aug 21 (2:45pm & 6:45pm) and Aug 22 (1:00pm, 5:10pm, & 9:15pm).

On August 23 and 24, The Dundee Theater in Omaha will be holding midnight screenings.

Last night

Radiohead ended their short tour of Portugal and Spain and last night in Salamanca could only be described as spectacular. The band were in a festive mood and even took audience requests! Songs played included Can’s The Thief, You, Big Ideas, Exit Music, Lucky, Fog, and Big Boots! Setlist available here.

Aphex Twin

Richard D. James (aka Aphex Twin) did a recent interview with Kludge Sound magazine and was asked about Radiohead:

Would you play with Radiohead?
No. I wouldn’t play with them since I don’t like them. It’s hard enough to go on tour with a band you like and see them play the same songs every night. It’s even worst if you don’t even like them.

Flaming Lips

Need a little sonic boost this week? Tired of your co-workers blaring bad elevator music? Tune into the Flaming Lips this Thursday and fight off the mid-week blues with a dose of musical bliss from Wayne, Michael and Steven.

The Flaming Lips will be performing LIVE on KCRW on “Morning Becomes Eclectic” this Thursday, August 8th at 11am PT. They’ll be playing songs from their new CD Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots and will talk about the making of the album.
