Upcoming RH book

We received the following email from Joseph Tate, who is compiling some essays about Radiohead:

Limited information on the collection of essays I am editing on Radiohead is now available here:
http://pulk-pull.org/radiohead/book/

_Strobe-Lights and Blown Speakers: The Music and Art of Radiohead_, will include a preface by Kevin J. H. Dettmar, editor of _Reading Rock and Roll_, an essay by Paul Lansky, the professor at Princeton whose music is sampled on “Idioteque,” and the artwork of Stanley Donwood.
Currently, the collection does not yet have a definite publisher. I am in contact with several presses and once I have more details, I will post them on my web site at:

Hardstaff video

The video for “Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors”/”Like Spinning Plates” that was done by Johnny Hardstaff was indeed commissioned by Radiohead, according to a source close to the band. This contradicts the story that Spanish radio M-80 reported about last week and should now clear up any confusion.

The video will be released to TV channels like MTV and MTV2. Whether they choose to play it or not, is anyone’s guess. Since neither song will be released as a single, it is doubtful that you’ll see the video on heavy rotation.

More info about RH video

There is some more information about the video that Johnny Hardstaff did for Radiohead at http://www.mill.co.uk/search_articles.php?id=498.

Speaking of the Hardstaff video, Spanish radio station M-80 is reporting that Radiohead did not give Hardstaff permission to use “Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors” and “Like Spinning Plates” for the video and legal action could take place.

Radiohead in Jane

There is a small article in Jane magazine about Radiohead:

Hip-hop and rap albums just wouldn’t be complete without those random bits of comedy/social commentary, but why don’t any rock bands–like, say, Radiohead–utilize this form of creative outlet? Let’s imagine…Thom Yorke: “Oh, it’s so depressing to have to make rock albums for a living.” [Carnival sounds] Ed: “Don’t get weird on me, Yorke, I’m counting my quid.” [Helicopter whirls] Thom: “I am in pa-a-a-a-i-i-i-n, damn you. We shan’t continue touring.” [Screeching metal and a crash] Ed: “Then I’m going to fill my bath with ice milk and strippers!” [Robotic voices chant. Dog Barks. Sirens. Woman cackles. Smattering of applause. Funky drums fade in.] Thom[on the beat]: “Huh. Huh. Huh. Huh.”
