Following their triumphant club show 10 days ago in Toronto,
Radiohead looks set to return to Canada for a three-date mini-tour
this summer.
Thom Yorke and company will embark on a month-long trek of
theatres and mid-sized (5,000-6,000-capacity) halls, beginning on
the West Coast in late-July.
The Canadian dates are as follows:
Mississauga, Ont., Aug. 19, Arrow Hall (International Centre)
Ottawa, Aug. 20, Congress Centre
Montreal, Aug. 22, Metropolis
The opening act on all dates will be Teenage Fanclub, whose
new album, Songs From Northern Britain, will be released in
Canada and the U.S. on July 29 by Sony Music -- which also
happens to be the source of the tour info below.
A spokesperson for Radiohead's Canadian label, EMI, said
Wednesday that the band has indeed booked the Mississauga,
Ottawa, and Montreal dates above, but listed them as "to be
confirmed."
