The Independent has put out a list of who they consider to be the 100 most influential people in the music industry, and Thom is at #30.
Sure, he’s behind Eminem (#1), Coldplay’s Chris Martin (#10), 50 Cent (#11), and Britney Spears (#17), but he is ranked ahead of Yoko Ono (#31), Mick Jagger and Keith Richards (#53), and Lil’ Jon (#88). Nigel Godrich is also on board, at #74.

Radiohead.com Updated
Behold, version 1.2 of Radiohead.com is online! We could tell you that nothing is different, or we could tell you that everything is different, but either way, it’d be impossible to prove.
‘Lucky’ Played on Six Feet Under
‘Lucky’ was played on this weeks episode of HBO’s Six Feet Under, at the very end of the episode and through the credits.

Alan Cross’ (of Toronto’s The Edge 102.1 FM’s highly-rated “Ongoing History of New Music”) much-coveted Radiohead documentaries are now online, in transcript from. These highly complete transcripts are divided into four parts. The obsessive fan will not learn much, but the casual fan who sometimes doesn’t know what people are talking about on the boards will be an expert in no time. Highly recommended stuff.
We’ll give you a link to the archives, because there’s more to check out than just the Radiohead (but you can go there first…we’ll understand).

San Francisco’s SFGate.com has an article about former Elephant 6-ers Beulah, in which the lead singer takes Thom to task for not playing certain songs live-
“The fact is, we’re entertainers, and we have to do what the audiences want. I remember [Radiohead’s] Thom Yorke saying in an interview he wouldn’t play songs from certain records, and I just think that’s foolhardy or stupid.
“Yeah, he’s supposed to get off and have a good time, but it’s more about the fans — it’s their show,” Kurosky adds. “I’d be a liar if I said I didn’t get off on being cheered at. It’s a rush. Sometimes I have to stop and look at all the heads and realize this is kind of unreal. But I like that old-school entertainer thing — you’re being paid to do a job, and you have to think about what they want.”
I can’t seem to recall any songs that Thom refuses to play live- perhaps ‘Pop is Dead’, but it’s more likely he’s referring to ‘Creep’, which does still get played. Oh well. We disagree, but still enjoy the music of Beulah, who are apparently breaking up, um, now.
