Cartoon Network is polling here to see which episode of Space Ghost Coast to Coast will air tonight at 12:30 AM (ET). “Knifin’ Around”, featuring Thom and Bjork, is one of the Creator Nominees (and is legitmately hilarious to boot, even if you don’t count the celebrity factor).
So go vote, so we can all watch it tonight!

A Massive Year-End List Recap
Everyone knows the end of the year always brings increased cult activity, alcohol binging, and a “best of the year” list from everyone who has heard at least 5 CDs this year. Since A)we’ve been on holiday and B)they all tend to say the same thing (i.e. “they finally play guitar again!”), here’s a summary of what we’ve got so far. Note that I’m only talking HTTT the album right now- singles will be done seperately.
The New York Times has it at #3, behind OutKast (#2) and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs (#1).
The Orlando Sentinel has it at #1. You’ll have to choose whether or not to forgive them for calling Amnesiac “disappointing”, though.
The Contra Costa Times has it at #2, behind OutKast.
CMJ has it at #3, behind The Postal Service (#2) and The White Stripes (#1).
Pitchfork Media has it at #4, behind Sufjan Stevens (#3), The Books (#2), and The Rapture (#1).
NME has it at #9, with the White Stripes at #1.
Q Magazine has it at #11.
The Toronto Star has it at #8 (in a surprisingly eclectic list), with Metric at #1.
The Newark Star Ledger has it at #6, with Fountains of Wayne at #1.
The Columbian has it at #5, with The White Stripes at #1.
Canoe lists it in the top 10 (no order).
The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has it at #8, with Cat Power at #1.
TheLas Vegas Mercury has a collection of five best lists from different writers, and HTTT rates a mention on three of them (two of them in no order, HTTT at #15 in one, with The White Stripes at #1).
The Philadelphia Inquirer lists it in the top ten (no order).
The Sydney Morning Herald lists it in the top #50 (no order).
Sales wise, HTTT was #83 on Billboard’s Top 200 Sellers of the year chart.
Whew.

Updates Begin Again…
We’re back! Hope everyone had some nice holiday action, and is ready for the drunken revelry that usually signals the coming of the new year.
Places that should have had e-mail did not (and, ahem, laptops may have been dropped), but now we’re back, and updates shall begin again presently.
Thank you for your patience.

Thursday – Colin Greenwood chooses Al Green’s Living For You as Album Of The Day.

(And thanks to all who corrected my spelling…seriously, I appreciate that…)
Torlogh has been kind enough to record and post MP3s from yesterday’s acoustic show (reported below) on his website. He’s also posted the very interesting Q&A that took place afterwards.
Go snag ’em here.
(Thanks to Torlogh.)
UPDATE: Torlogh has been quite generous, but the thousands of hits are proving to be a bit much for his hosting account. Being in the holiday spirit, he will leave them up until the end of the day, but then they shall disappear, so get them now and share if you can. If you miss out, you can easily find them on multiple file-sharing services as well as a very high quality version at The Hub.
HTTT scored a spot in Rolling Stone’s top 50 of 2003 (the list isn’t numbered, so don’t panic- they didn’t “lose” to 50 Cent). What they said-
“Hail wasn’t exactly Radiohead’s anticipated return to rock; instead, the band simply turns down the volume on the electronics and lets the songwriting drift to less chaotic, more atmospheric realms. But on the singles “There, There” and “Go to Sleep,” the album comes into scary focus: guitars swell to arena-worthy crescendos, supporting songs that demand repeated exposure to reveal themselves. And on this past summer’s tour, Radiohead proved again that they’re the best band in the world.”
You can see Radiohead’s entry here, or go through the whole list by starting here. Try to ignore the fact that if you go through all 50 remarkable albums, you’ll have 50 remarkable pop-unders waiting for you when you’re done.
