Radiohead will be the featured band on MTV2’s Subterranean this Friday, November 14th. According to the MTV2 website, Subterranean is a show where a guest host joins Jim Shearer to play music videos from up and coming bands.
I know MTV’s always been a few steps behind, but Radiohead as an up and coming band?
It airs at 1am EST and 10pm PST in the US.

RH Article in The Scotsman
There’s a great Radiohead article over at The Scotsman. An excerpt-
In general, Greenwood says, the media scrutiny and frenzied pace involved in being frontman of one of the world?s biggest bands has been less onerous on Yorke this time. “It?s a bit hectic sometimes, but generally really good. The ballet thing added a bit of pressure but it?s OK. And we can use the music that Jonny [Greenwood, guitarist] has written for it as a basis when we go into the studio the next time. It?s all his analogue stuff and mad drum machines and radio transmissions… It?s really exciting. It?s not so much like Bodysong [Jonny?s soundtrack to forthcoming arthouse film], more like ?Idioteque?-type stuff.”
And here are some clues as to where Radiohead are ?at? right now. The guitar-lite, techno-ambient soundscapes Jonny Greenwood created for Bodysong date from the period prior to the recording of Hail To The Thief. They could be the last hurrah for the jazzy atmospherics of the Kid A and Amnesiac days. ?Idioteque?, meanwhile, bloomed from its rather rigid recording on Amnesiac into a kind of kinetic punk-electronics on Radiohead?s 2000-2001 world tour. It ended up becoming the pivotal track on the live album I Might Be Wrong.
This year, the same has been happening with ?The Gloaming?. “When you?re in the studio you?re focused on certain things and where you?re going,” Greenwood says. “Later on, on tour, you realise the other ways that songs can go. So now ?The Gloaming? is different every night.”

Ed Aid 2003
EdQuarters are producing a Christmas card for Ed O’Brien. The card is designed to promote Ed Aid 2003. With the current tour highlighting how Ed only owns 3 pairs of trousers, and has to resort to stealing Radiohead t-shirts from the merchandise stand at gigs, EdQuarters have set up an appeal fund. Closing date for gifts and signatures is December 7.

Vote For a Radiohead Encore
TheMusic.com, as reported before, offers professionally recorded CDs of live concerts (think along the lines of what Pearl Jam did a few years back). They currently have a poll up to see who should be their next series, and Radiohead is one of the possibilities. Not sure how binding this is, as they seemed to have pretty much missed the boat on this tour, but you may as well head on over and vote for them anyway.
They’re neck and neck with Yes, of all bands.
The Saturday Night Live featuring Radiohead (Kate Hudson hosted) will be replayed on Comedy Central this Sunday, 11/9/03, at 8am EST, and Wednesday, 11/12/03, at 1pm EST.
This was originally filmed on 10/14/2000, National Anthem and Idioteque were played.
UPDATE: Unfortunately, due to the fact that the SNLs on Comedy Central are edited down from 90 to 60 minutes, Idioteque will not be played.
