RH Takes Over Channel V
As reported by Adam-
“Radiohead took over whatUwant, a music request program on Channel V (Australia) for a brief while today. In the middle of an interview, at about quarter to five, the screen turned to static and the test pattern and a Radiohead test bear came up.
Then what could best be described as the Fitter Happier voice intoned, “We are Radiohead, we have control of your TV, do not adjust your set. This is our new single, 2+2=5”, upon which time the live Glastonbury footage played.
Then Jabba (the host) basically said “What the hell was that?” and announced tour dates.”
We’ve been getting lots of great info from our friends Down Under lately, and everyone seems very excited. I can’t blame them…Radiohead hasn’t visited since 1998, so I’d be excited too. Keep the news coming, and we’ll keep you posted.
Australian Tour Dates Confirmed
Triple J did their special Radiohead show with Mel and Charlie a short while ago. The following dates are now confirmed (UPDATE- and corrected)-
Friday April 23rd- Sydney Entertainment Centre, Sydney
Monday April 26th- Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne
In addition, Phil came on and gave a great interview (“How do you feel about the drum machine?” “Oh I hate it, I hate it”), which you can listen to here. Be warned that it’s a 5.1MB mp3, but we don’t hear from Phil as much as we’d like, so make a little time, won’t you?

Jonny Talks Bodysong on BBC Front Row
Jonny was on BBC’s Front Row program today, talking about Bodysong. For a limited time, you can stream the entire program here (Real Player is required). Jonny comes on about 12 minutes in and talks for about 8.

On October 4th, at 4pm Sydney time, Australian channel V’s video request show whatUwant is doing something on Radiohead. Now what it is, nobody knows, as they’re being a bit vague about it…could it be yet another “secret” announcement?
Here’s the original notification email, atrocious internet abbreviations and all-
Psst! Heads up gang. If ur a Radiohead fan…watch whatUwant on Fri 24 October (starts 4pm AEST)…I can’t tell you why…they’ll give me the snip if I do…but if you love Radiohead then you don’t want to miss this.

Jonny Confirms Australian Tour
In an interview with the Melbourne Herald Sun (two days before Thom’s “secret” announcement on Triple J radio), Jonny has let it slip that Radiohead are coming to Australia. Tickets will go onsale November 3rd at Ticketek for an April 26th show in Melbourne at the Rod Laver Arena. There will also be a Sydney show, but we have no details on that quite yet.
I can’t seem to find the Radiohead article in question on the Herald Sun’s website, but even if this is a (very elaborate) rumour, the odds are good for an Aussie show or two. Radiohead are playing Japan on April 14th-18th, and bands typically go from Japan to Oz (and vice-versa), since they are in the same time zone.
As usual, we’ll keep you posted.
(Thanks to Sy and Wesley.)
