Rumor time! HMV has posted up a prerelease page for Radiohead which we would assume is for the new album. Check it out here. Now this is probably nothing at all but in times of slow news reporting, we’ll take anything.
No mention of a release date yet, though rumor has it that it could be coming in November. We certainly hope it comes sooner.
Now back to what you were doing….
A ballet inspired by Radiohead will air in Scotland this summer, it has been confirmed.
Stephen Petronio’s “Ride The Beast” is scheduled for performance at the Edinburgh International Festival and features a number of musical reworkings of their songs.
Opening with “Fitter Happier”, the performance features five songs from Thom and co in total, from across their career.
Explaining the production, Petronio commented: “Radiohead’s music is a brilliant investigation of achingly modern taste.
“They sail through genre and form effortlessly and passionately, and their music demands a physical response from me that by-passes reason.”
“Ride The Beast” takes place at the Scottish Ballet at the Edinburgh Playhouse on August 18+19+20.

Maybe you were like us and wondered what that strange mannequin head was doing staring at Thom playing the piano in the April 22 update over at Dead Air Space. Jason M. wrote in to explain what this is and we thought we would pass it on to you.
Have you seen the mannequin head that Radiohead has in the studio?
It’s specifically in the DEAD AIR SPACE photo from Sun, Apr 22nd titled “Over your shoulder…”
It’s actually a rarely used form of recording technology called “Binaural Recording”.
Microphones are built into a fake head made of material that mimics how soundwaves pass through the human body.
The two main openings, the ear canals, create an exact replication of how humans hear the sounds in real life.
Basically, on the new album, you’ll be hearing some of the tracks, mainly piano, as if Thom was playing it in the same room as you.
Should be very interesting.
Here’s the wikipedia article for more information.
Check out this video of Radiohead playing “Go to Sleep” live on Later… with Jools Holland. The description says that Jonny’s guitar playing at the end is “phenomenal”. We have to agree.
It’s easy to understand why Jonny has suffered from RSI over the years.
By now, I’m sure you’ve seen the post from Thom over at Dead Air Space where he mentioned the new album. The band have taken a break after recording the album and it appears that they have a CD with their progress. Does this mean that they are totally done recording? We believe yes.
radiohead starts up again having finally caught up on some sleep next week
i have a cd of what we;’ve been up to…
and you haven’t.
yet.
(sorry)
i must listen to it, after taking an ear break
that always makes me nervous
hope you’re well
Still no word on an official release date for this album. Expect information to start pouring out soon, which should mean more updates here. We believe that an announcement will be made soon.
