OKC included in Top 200 Albums of All Time list

From Product Shop NYC:

“The National Association of Record Manufacturers and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame have fought back with a celebration of the greatest albums ever. The two organizations yesterday released “The Definitive 200,” a list of 200 albums they think every popular-music fan should own.

This list is not based on album sales, amount of awards it won, or anything like that. This is simply the musical tastes of the NARM and R&R Hall of Fame.”

Radiohead’s OK Computer came in at #111. Wow. Both Shania Twain and Creed came in lower.

See the full list here.

I think it’s safe to say that this is the worst music list ever.

Radiohead nominated for “Best Music Festival Performance”

The 1st annual US Music Festival Awards, aka the Festies, has listed their nominations and Radiohead is included in the “Best Music Festival Performance” category for their Bonnaroo show last year. Other acts include Beck (Bonnaroo), Bloc Party (Coachella), Flaming Lips (Austin City Limits), and many more.

To vote, please go here. Looks like you have to register to vote, which sucks. If you do vote, it looks like you could be entered in to a contest to win airfare and tickets to any US music festival, which doesn’t suck.

The winners will be announced on March 20th. For more info, check out their site.

US Tour, Thom Yorke, Plan B

We’re going to have to keep this short and sweet for now: Radiohead should be touring the US sooner than you probably think. ‘Nuff said!
Stay tuned.

RollingStone.com thinks that Thom Yorke is one of the top 5 singers ever. Ever. This was in response to Q magazine naming their top singers (and worst) ever recently. Thom is joined by other legends, such as Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, and Billie Holliday.

Speaking of Thom, there is a very cool video of someone drawing him, and then speeding it up and setting it to music. Check it out.

And finally, a rapper named Plan B has sampled “Analyse” by Thom Yorke. The song is called “Couldn’t Get Along…” and you can hear it at his MySpace.

Oxegen 07, T in the Park, & Bonnaroo

The lineup for Oxegen 07 was announced and there is no mention of Radiohead.

Radiohead was rumored to be playing this festival but of course, that was just a rumor. There is some speculation that they may still headline Sunday night. Who knows.

While the chances of Radiohead playing Oxegen are now slimmer than before, we can still look to the T in the Park festival.

Though nothing has been announced officially about the band being there, we continue to get word that it should happen.

How about Bonnaroo? After last year’s awesome (and lengthy performace) by Radiohead at the Manchester, Tennessee festival, many people have asked us if they will be back this year. Nope. It’s not going to happen folks. Sorry. Our guess is that the timing is just bad. You do want them to finish the new album, right?

Speaking of the new album… we should hopefully have some updates for you soon on this, as well as the tour, soon.

YouTube Friday

We have two videos for you today. The first is a clip of Thom Yorke talking about people that have sex while listening to Radiohead. This is appropriate because just this week, Christina Aguilera said that she likes to listen to Radiohead while having sex with her boyfriend.

The second video is a performance of “You” by Thom and Jonny. Good stuff.

Thom responds to Noel

A new Dead Air Space post was posted today by Thom. At the end, Thom refrences one of Noel Gallagher’s classy quotes:

“I never went to f****** university. I don’t know what a paint brush is, I never went to art school.”

Thom responds, “i did. it taught me to respect other artists.”

Woot! Good to see Thom stick up for himself after Noel criticized him last week.

Thom also links to http://www.guardian.co.uk/nuclear which you should check out if you’re in to that sort of thing.

Oh, if you’re curious as to where Thom got the quote from Noel, check this out.
