This is an update from yesterday’s post about a magazine looking for Radiohead fans to talk about Phil’s marathon run.
We have received a huge response and have passed on all your email addresses to the magazine, which will be named soon but due to certain issues, wishes to be anonymous for the time being. The magazine will contact you if you are needed.
I have been told that we have more than enough people willing to be interviewed so no more people are needed. Thank you!
A major music magazine here in the US is putting together a news item for an upcoming issue and they are wanting to talk to a few Radiohead fans who sponsored Phil and/or watched the webcast of him running in the recent Flora London Marathon. If you are interested in being interviewed (it’ll only be a few minutes of your time on the phone), then please email us at 15@greenplastic.com and we will forward your email to the right people.
As far as we know, this is open to anyone and not just US residents.

The message from Phil Selway was sent out to w.a.s.t.e. members today:
Before we start work on the next Radiohead album, I will foolishly be running in the London Marathon 2002, on Sunday 14th April.
I am writing to ask if you would kindly sponsor me for this event, and help me raise much-needed funds for The Samaritans.
The Samaritans are a UK-based charity who offer twenty-four-hour availability and support to people who are going through a period of crisis and who may have suicidal feelings.
They are part of a worldwide organisation called Befrienders International.
I’m hoping to run the Marathon in four hours. In those four hours, The Samaritans will take around 2,200 calls from people who are in need of emotional support. The Samaritans will listen to them, giving them the time and space to say how they are really feeling.
I’m aiming to raise 4,500, but hoping that the total will be much higher.
All sponsors will be entered into a draw to win the drumkit which I used on various tracks on OK Computer, including Exit Music and Paranoid Android. The kit is a five-piece cherry-red Premier XPK, complete with cymbal stands and a bass-drum pedal.
The ride and crash cymbals and hi-hats are made by Zildjian, and were also used in the OK Computer sessions.

Radiohead’s Phil Selway is due to open a new centre for the Samaritans. Mr Selway, a volunteer with the charity, was unveiling the building in Oxford on Friday. The state-of-the-art centre in Magdalen Road features interview and meeting rooms.
“It’s a very impressive place,” Mr Selway told BBC Oxford Online.
Radiohead and the Samaritans are polar opposites…but they do provide a good contrast. Phil Selway: “For an organisation that’s based on volunteers it’s incredibly professionally run. I think this comes across in the centre.”
Mr Selway became a Samaritan when he was a student in Liverpool in the 1980s.
