RH Mouthing Off

Radiohead is featured in several chapters of a new book called MOUTHING OFF – A Book of Rock & Roll Quotes. With funny and truthful observations from hundreds of rock, punk, and indie figures, this book was written with the music fan in mind.

Here’s an excerpt from Thom Yorke:
“My songs are my kids and some of them stay with me. Some others I have to send out, out to the war. It might sound stupid and it might even sound naive, but that’s just the way it is.” – Thom Yorke of Radiohead (2000)

The book also features a full page photograph of Thom Yorke taken by Rahav Segev.

Compiled by Rolling Stone/Billboard contributor John D. Luerssen and published by Brooklyn-based record label/publishing house The Telegraph Company, MOUTHING OFF hits book and record stores in June. Those who can’t wait can purchased early online at major book e-tailers. (Note: it’s cheapest on Amazon)

The Andy Dick Show

The most recent episode of “The Andy Dick Show” features a skit where Andy pretends to be Thom Yorke and goes on a “dream date” with a girl. He apparently is dragged around everwhere and acts depressed the whole time.

The episode re-airs tonight at 6:30pm ET on MTV USA.

New RH book

Barnes & Noble is listing a May 1, 2002 release for a new Radiohead book called Radiohead: A Visual Documentary, which was written by Tim Footman, who apparently went to Exeter with Thom Yorke for 3 years. Here’s the synopsis:

With just about everything else around falling into the ‘Pop’, ‘Nu-Metal’ or ‘Rap / RnB’ categories these days, it’s a breath of fresh air when a band as eclectic, talented and downright as unusual as Radiohead, can still hold a market with such compelling music, providing the hope and risk taking that the music business needs to thrive. So with a huge fan base and new recruits joining the fold regularly, every new album selling more and more copies and the tours attracting bigger crowds consistently, the time couldn’t be better for a definitive biography and photo journal on the band. Radiohead – A visual documentary consists of a chronological documentary, in words and full color photography, put together by an early associate of lead member Thom Yorke. Never before seen images nestle next to facts about the band never previously revealed. With every other book about the band currently available being largely a critical opinionated text heavy work, this factual, informative and entertaining book is certain to become the favored work amongst fans.

Yorke: Life of the party

The following is from CDNow’s Miss Truth gossip section:

It’s not called music’s biggest night just for the trophies — GRAMMY Awards night is also about the parties. Here’s a rundown on some of the night’s post-show happenings:

Radiohead’s Thom Yorke was the life of the party over at the Park Plaza Hotel, where EMI/Virgin celebrated its GRAMMY Award wins by Lenny Kravitz (his fourth win in a row for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance for “Dig In”), Coldplay (Best Alternative Album for Parachutes), and Janet Jackson (Best Dance Recording for “All for You”).

Yorke wasn’t stumbling around or anything, but it did appear that he and the wine had been engrossed in some deep GRAMMY Award discussions, given his uncharacteristically happy disposition!
